TIBA 2026 Craft Beer Competition with First Academic Seminar Strengthens Industry to International Standards

The 2nd TIBA 2026 craft beer competition organized by the association includes a new event, Thai Brew Con 2026, the first academic seminar for Thailand's craft beer business, aiming to strengthen the industry to international standards.

A reporter stated that the Craft Beer Trade Association is preparing to hold the 2nd annual Thailand International Beer Awards 2026 (TIBA 2026), following last year’s event which made a vibrant impact on Thailand’s craft beer industry.

This year’s judging concluded in mid-May with 118 beer entries from both domestic and international producers and importers, an increase from last year reflecting industry growth. A highlight was the addition of a beer category made from Thai rice to support local agriculture and develop a distinct Thai beer identity. Judging followed the international Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP) standards, as last year, with international judges participating—a feature the association plans to expand in future events. As usual, only legally produced beers were eligible to maintain quality, standards, and industry credibility.

The TIBA 2026 award ceremony will be held on the evening of 21 June 2026 at Queen's Land Hotel, Phayathai, under the title TIBA Ceremony – Association Gala Night 2026. The association expects craft beer entrepreneurs from across the country to gather and celebrate the winners, marking a much-anticipated reunion for Thailand’s craft beer community.

In addition to TIBA 2026, the Craft Beer Trade Association will hold the first academic seminar for Thai craft beer producers during the day on the same date. Presented in Thai by long-standing industry experts, the seminar aims to share in-depth, internationally standardized knowledge that can be practically applied in the growing number of small breweries across Thailand.

The event, named Thailand Craft Beer Brewing Conference 2026 or Thai Brew Con 2026 (TBC 2026), will cover four main seminar topics essential for standard beer production: brewery hygiene and maintenance, understanding quality fermentation, effective beer packaging methods, and importantly, the use of Thai rice in brewing. The content is based on internationally recognized resources such as the Brewers Association of America and the VLB Brewing Academy in Germany.

TIBA and TBC 2026 mark significant milestones for the Craft Beer Trade Association, which aims to foster a stable growth environment for the industry and support small brewers in sustainably driving the national economy.
