Police Captain Arrested for Shooting Signboard at Bhumjaithai Party Office

A police captain was arrested after driving a car and shooting at the signboard and building of the Bhumjaithai Party office in Surat Thani province.

On 20 June 2026, following an incident where a perpetrator fired a gun at the sign and building of the Bhumjaithai Party office in Moo 6, Suai Subdistrict, Tha Chang District, Surat Thani province, causing damage, authorities identified the suspect as a police officer with the rank of captain. The suspect is currently being closely pursued, as previously reported.

Most recently, at 13:10, the Special Operations Unit of the Investigation Division, Surat Thani Provincial Police, successfully detained the man holding the rank of police captain at a shopping mall.

Prior to this, police investigations revealed that the suspect went to the mall and sat down to eat buffet. Officers closely monitored him with caution because he was known to be armed at all times, fearing a repeat incident that could endanger innocent people.

After detaining him, authorities took him to the Investigation Division of the Surat Thani Provincial Police to record the arrest, with Pol. Maj. Gen. Suwat Suksri, provincial police commander, participating in initial questioning.

CCTV footage captured the suspect traveling to the front area of the party office and committing the act.

Additionally, it was found that the suspect’s social media had posts sharing messages from MP Pichai and the Bhumjaithai Party before the final post about a food ordering system and his subsequent arrest.
