List of Dead and Injured from Doi Luang Tunnel Wall Collapse on Workers

List of the deceased and injured from the wall accident "Doi Luang Tunnel" where the tunnel wall collapsed on workers inside the double-track railway construction project on the Den Chai-Chiang Rai route.

Regarding the case of the wall "Doi Luang Tunnel" collapsing on workers within the Doi Luang tunnel construction project on the Den Chai-Chiang Rai-Chiang Khong double-track railway route in Chok Chai Subdistrict, Doi Luang District, Chiang Rai Province, on the evening of 20 June 2026, resulting in 2 deaths and 2 injuries, as previously reported (Wall collapse at "Doi Luang Tunnel" kills 2 and injures 2 during railway construction)

On 21 June 2026, reporters learned that police from Doi Luang Station revealed details of all victims and are urgently collecting evidence to thoroughly investigate the cause.

According to the Doi Luang police report, the incident occurred around 18:45 within the railway tunnel construction area at Village 10, Chok Chai Subdistrict, Doi Luang District, Chiang Rai Province. After receiving a report of injured workers during tunnel construction, officials found 2 deceased trapped inside the tunnel and 2 injured persons.

The deceased are Mr. Apidet Kaowpraken, 24, from Nong Bua Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province, and Mr. Tu Tu Hun, 29, a Myanmar national. The injured are Ms. Supamas Kiewsai, 28, from Wai Niao Subdistrict, Tha Maka District, Kanchanaburi Province, and Mr. Tun Tun Win, also a Myanmar national.

Officials later recovered the bodies from the scene for autopsy and legal procedures, while the two injured were taken to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital for treatment.

Preliminary investigations revealed that workers were drilling to secure reinforcement bars on the tunnel wall to strengthen it when rocks suddenly fell from the wall, hitting the workers and causing the fatalities and injuries. Police investigator Lieutenant Palop Sukjai of Doi Luang Station is gathering evidence to determine the true cause under the supervision of Chief Investigator Lieutenant Colonel Pisak Phokmuangpol.

Police Colonel Anan Lertsuwan, superintendent of Doi Luang Station, stated that officials have conducted a detailed inspection of the accident site and coordinated with related agencies and engineering experts to examine the tunnel's structural condition.
