A police officer who owns the Facebook page "Here is Sai Noi" explained the reason for closing the page, confirming it was not related to the modified truck issue, and reiterated that any vehicle violating the law will be apprehended as usual.
Regarding the case involving the Sai Noi Traffic Sergeant page and the Here is Sai Noi page, which have drawn public attention following an incident on 11 June 2026 at 11 a.m. involving the apprehension of a trailer truck, the pages were heavily criticized and subsequently shut down, prompting suspicions that led Sai Noi police officers to issue a clarification.(Sai Noi police officer "Traffic Sergeant Jak" explains the reason for closing the page, denying connection to the trailer truck apprehension issue.)
Most recently, at 5 p.m. on 21 June 2026, a reporter met Police Corporal Pongsathon Doktalyong, head of the traffic division and the officer managing the Here is Sai Noi page. He revealed that the reason for closing the page was not related to the truck issue but because the page received numerous spam reports, causing frequent glitches when posting, which led him to decide to close it. He added there may be a chance to reopen the page in the future.
He clarified that the closure was not connected to the apprehension of a ten-wheeler truck nor ordered by superiors. The Here is Sai Noi page typically receives many complaints from the Sai Noi area, mostly concerning trucks and vehicles driving against traffic, often overwhelming the page. Normally, if a ten-wheeler or any vehicle violates the law, it is apprehended as usual.
Concerning reports of trucks displaying stickers, none have been found so far. Regarding the three Michelin Man figurines hanging on the front of trucks, these are personal decorations chosen by drivers and are not symbols exempting them from enforcement. If caught violating the law, they will be apprehended normally. Sai Noi sees a high number of apprehensions. After the page closed, many called asking why it was shut down, and he explained it was due to frequent spam reports. However, there is a possibility the page will reopen.
Meanwhile, Mr. Chao, 67, a laborer, said that modified trucks with mudguards extending beyond the vehicle body affect other road users because the protrusions are quite large. Vehicles behind cannot easily overtake, and sometimes truck drivers swerve to avoid trees, forcing other drivers to swerve, creating dangerous situations. Locals have been affected and accidents have occurred.
He added that police have often apprehended and warned these trucks. He urged relevant authorities to enforce removal of such protruding equipment from trucks, as they extend too far beyond the vehicle. This causes difficulties when entering narrow alleys, potentially causing collisions with passing vehicles. Usually, these trucks are trailers, often traveling in convoys of three or four, causing significant disturbance to the community.
