The Commander-in-Chief of the Army presented honorary mine warfare badges to two combat engineers, Corporal Sujin and Sergeant Nititham, who were injured during missions to clear and neutralize landmines along the border areas.
The Royal Thai Army Facebook page posted that on 19 June 2026, General Phana Klaewplodtuk, Commander-in-Chief of the Army, accompanied by his team, presided over a ceremony to present honorary mine warfare badges to combat engineers injured during missions in the Thailand–Cambodia border area in 2025. The awards recognized their courage, sacrifice, and dedication to the nation and the army at the Yama Building, Engineer School, Engineer Regiment, Phanurangsi Camp, Ratchaburi Province.
On this occasion, the Commander-in-Chief presented honorary mine warfare badges to two combat engineers who were seriously injured during mine clearance operations in the operational areas, namely:
On 29 December 2025, while serving as a demolition soldier conducting search, clearance, and sweeping of landmines in Khao Sattasom area, Saothongchai Subdistrict, Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province, he stepped on a PMN-2 anti-personnel mine, resulting in severe injuries including loss of his left leg and damage to his left eye.
On 25 December 2025, while supporting combat units at Hill 350 near Prasat Ta Kwai, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, serving as a demolition soldier responsible for clearing the area to ensure safety, he stepped on a landmine and lost his left leg in the line of duty.
The presentation of these honorary mine warfare badges expresses concern and appreciation for personnel who serve with sacrifice, bravery, and steadfast commitment to protecting national sovereignty despite life-threatening risks. The heroic deeds of these two soldiers exemplify strength, responsibility, and the true spirit of combat engineers dedicated to the nation and its people, deserving lasting recognition and honor.
