On 24 June 2026, developments arose regarding the news of corruption in local exams or competitive exams for recruitment into local government civil service positions, following authorities conducting searches in Nonthaburi Province.
Recently, the Facebook page "Wichian Buri Municipality Office, Phetchabun Province" posted a clarification stating it is not involved in the exam corruption scandal. It explained that officials from the National Anti-Corruption Commission, together with the Anti-Corruption Division, conducted searches and arrested individuals involved in a corruption network related to competitive exams for local civil service recruitment, as reported in the media. These reports have implicated or affected the reputation of Wichian Buri Municipality.
Wichian Buri Municipality hereby clarifies that it has no connection, knowledge, or participation in the said corruption process or network.
The municipality is willing to cooperate with relevant agencies in fact-checking to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to principles of good governance and integrity in its duties.
Furthermore, if any false or misleading information causing damage to Wichian Buri Municipality is identified, legal action will be considered. The municipality requests fairness from the public in considering information from all sides.
