The Deputy Mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality revealed "Mr. P." has contacted officials preparing to submit his resignation but has not yet done so after being named among suspects in the cheating ring in the "local government exam"
Reporters stated that on 24 Jun 2026, "Mr. P.", a civil servant from Wichian Buri Municipality, was identified as one of the suspects in the large-scale 2025 local government employee exam fraud involving answer sheet tampering, causing damages estimated at 4.5 billion baht.
Later, social media circulated that "Mr. P." had already resigned. Reporters contacted Ms. Sunee Mungkalaratnasri, Deputy Mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality, overseeing the Municipal Clerk's Office, Finance Department, and Engineering Department. She confirmed that "Mr. P." had contacted municipal executives expressing his intent to resign from government service. This is true, but he has not yet officially submitted his resignation. It is expected he will do so within one to two days.
Most recently, reports indicated that the Governor of Phetchabun signed a letter to the Mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality informing that the Provincial Administrative Organization meeting approved the suspension of "Mr. P.", one of the suspects in the 2025 local government employee exam fraud involving answer sheet tampering.
