The case involves "Mr. P.", a municipal official from Wichian Buri, who is suspected in a large-scale local government exam fraud operation in 2025 involving altering exam answer sheets for local government staff positions. The scandal has caused damages estimated at 4.5 billion baht. It was coordinated with the deputy mayor that he would submit his resignation within one to two days. Meanwhile, on 24 June 2026, the Phetchabun Provincial Administrative Organization approved temporarily suspending "Mr. P." pending the outcome of a serious disciplinary investigation.

On 25 June 2026 at the Wichian Buri Municipality office in Tha Rong subdistrict, Wichian Buri district, Phetchabun Province, Wing Commander Dr. Natthapong Thangphromphanich, Mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality, was absent due to attending training at King Prajadhipok's Institute until 15 July 2026. Meanwhile, municipal staff were working as usual but declined to comment on the matter.

However, a member of the fact-finding committee provided information that regarding rumors of over 30 municipal officials passing the exam, documents are currently being collected and those involved will be summoned to provide information soon.

At the same time, several media outlets have shown strong interest and remain stationed to monitor whether "Mr. P." will come to submit his resignation today as previously communicated with the municipal administration. However, up to now, he has not appeared.

Additionally, the reporter noted that today at the Wichian Buri Municipality auditorium, the third annual Mobile Agricultural Clinic under the royal patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn is being held in Phetchabun Province. The event was scheduled to be opened by Mr. Kachai Chairasmeekul, Deputy Governor of Phetchabun, with Wing Commander Dr. Natthapong Thangphromphanich, Mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality, slated to deliver a report. However, the mayor did not attend, so Mr. Kitti Limsirichai, Wichian Buri district chief officer, delivered the report instead.
