Mr. P. Secretly Sends Representative to Submit Resignation Amid Suspicions of Local Exam Fraud

Mr. P. Secretly sent a representative to submit his resignation after becoming one of the suspects involved in the scheme "Local Exam Fraud"


Regarding Mr. P., a civil servant at Wichian Buri Municipality, who became one of the suspects in the 2025 local exam corruption case involving the alteration of local government staff exam answer sheets. This was found to be a large-scale operation with estimated damages reaching 4.5 billion baht. Coordination with the deputy mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality indicated that Mr. P. would submit his resignation within one to two days. On 24 June 2026, the Phetchabun Provincial Local Administration Committee resolved to suspend Mr. P. pending the outcome of a severe disciplinary investigation.

Most recently, on 25 June 2026, reporters reported that at the Wichian Buri Municipality auditorium, the third annual mobile agricultural clinic event under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn in Phetchabun Province was held. The event was scheduled to be officially opened by Mr. Kachai Chairasmee-kul, Deputy Governor of Phetchabun Province, with Mr. Dr. Natthaphong Tangphromphanich, Mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality, scheduled to deliver the report. However, the mayor did not attend, so Mr. Kitti Limsirichai, District Chief of Wichian Buri, delivered the report instead.

Later, at 1:00 p.m., Ms. Sunee Mankalaratansri, Deputy Mayor of Wichian Buri Municipality acting on behalf of the mayor, revealed that municipal officials brought her an envelope containing Mr. P.'s resignation letter. They stated they did not know who left the envelope at the public relations counter while staff attended the mobile agricultural clinic event under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn at the municipal auditorium.

Upon returning, she found a brown envelope containing the resignation letter of Mr. P. She said the resignation letter would be submitted to the Local Administration Committee for further consideration.
