Female Internal Auditor Continues Working Normally Amid Local Exam Fraud Scandal Khlong Khema Subdistrict Headman Not Surprised by High Exam Score

It was revealed that the "female internal auditor," recently linked to the local civil service exam fraud case, is experiencing severe psychological stress but continues to perform her duties as usual. Meanwhile, the Khlong Khema Subdistrict Headman admitted he was not surprised by her high exam score, attributing it to her strong work record. At the same time, voices have called for fairness for civil servants who passed and were appointed legitimately.

The scandal shaking the local civil service sector shocked the entire country when officials from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) raided a front company in Bang Yai District, Nonthaburi Province, that was manipulating exam answer sheets via computers for candidates who paid bribes. Over ten conspirators were arrested, mostly government officials. Authorities plan to pursue all involved, believing the operation has been ongoing under the cover of a front company, with an estimated illicit turnover of 4.5 billion baht. Prime Minister Anutin ordered strict action, while Permanent Secretary Atthasit Sampantharath of the Ministry of Interior, following orders from Minister Theerut Supavibulpol, transferred the Director-General of the Department of Local Administration to the ministry temporarily pending further orders, as previously reported.

Regarding this matter, on 25 June 2026, reporters visited a company located in Bang Len Subdistrict, Bang Yai District, Nonthaburi Province, identified as the site of the exam answer tampering fraud. The company was found to be closed and completely deserted.

Reporters had the opportunity to speak with Ms. B (a pseudonym), one of the civil servants appointed during the period in question. She shared that she is a local government official who passed the recruitment exam last year. Previously, she had attempted the local civil service exam in Rayong Province, passing all stages according to the Office of the Civil Service Commission’s regulations. However, she was disappointed when that recruitment was canceled due to detected fraud. Subsequently, a nationwide local civil servant recruitment exam was held in 2025, for which she studied diligently and successfully passed, fulfilling her dream of becoming a civil servant.

When she first learned about the cancellation of the civil servant appointments, she felt unfairly treated because she had passed the exam honestly and on her own merit. She is confident in her integrity and has never used connections or paid bribes, which can run into hundreds of thousands or millions of baht. She devoted herself to studying to prepare for this exam.

Initially, when the Prime Minister ordered the cancellation of the civil servant appointments, she was shocked, feeling it was unfair for those who studied sincerely. However, after the Prime Minister revoked the cancellation order, she felt justice was restored, considering that those who passed honestly regained their integrity. Still, she is not completely confident yet. She urges authorities to swiftly resolve the case and restore fairness for the innocent honest candidates.

She appeals to the country's leaders to expedite the investigation and resolution of this case because cheaters must be thoroughly eliminated and strictly punished. She asks that innocent people not be burdened. She pleads for a clear distinction to restore justice and the future for all civil servants who passed honestly. She also sends encouragement to her peers who will take future recruitment exams with integrity.

The reporter further noted that following rumors about the investigation into the local civil service exam fraud, which implicated a female civil servant recently appointed as an internal auditor at the Khlong Khema Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Krabi Province, the organization has issued a public statement clarifying the facts.

Mr. Amorn Nuikao, Headman of the Khlong Khema Subdistrict Administrative Organization, confirmed that the organization is not involved in setting exam questions, conducting exams, grading, or selecting successful candidates, as these responsibilities lie with the Department of Local Administration and the Central Examination Committee for Local Officials. The organization’s role is only to receive and appoint candidates allocated by central authorities.

The female civil servant in question assumed her position on 29 May 2026 and has affirmed to authorities that her exam participation and appointment followed official procedures. She also denies any involvement in the alleged fraud mentioned in the news reports.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that she continues to come to work as usual but declines media interviews due to severe stress and poor mental health. On 25 June, she performed her duties normally but left the office around midday.

The Khlong Khema Subdistrict Headman emphasized that if future investigations by authorized agencies find wrongdoing, the organization is ready to act according to government regulations and laws without exceptions. However, currently, there is no official order or conclusion indicating that the individual committed any offense, so they must await the responsible agency’s findings.

Nevertheless, since assuming the role of internal auditor, she has been observed to work well, demonstrating responsibility and producing good results. Therefore, her high exam score is not surprising.
