Voting Begins as Many Exercise Their Rights in Pattaya Mayor and Council Elections, Chonburi Province

Chonburi has started voting, with crowds flocking to exercise their rights in the Pattaya mayor and city council member elections. There is anticipation that the new mayoral team will govern the city honestly.

At 07:30 on 28 June 2026, at the canteen area of Phothisamphan School in Na Kluea Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province—designated as electoral district 1 with polling stations 17-21—the atmosphere before the opening of the ballot box for the Pattaya mayor and city council member election saw many people lining up to vote.

At 08:00, election officials officially announced the opening of the ballot box. Voters then began lining up for officials to check their ID cards before entering voting booths. The overall atmosphere was calm and orderly.

Meanwhile, Sinchai Wattanasathsorn, brother of candidate Itthiwat Wattanasathsorn, number 1 from the People's Party, and himself a former Pattaya mayoral candidate in the previous election, also arrived to cast his vote at 08:10.

Uncle Phayom Sunthornchoen, 83, who uses a walking cane due to his age, came to vote and shared that if someone is doing good, they should continue. Whoever becomes mayor of Pattaya, he hopes they will do good things and improve the city.

Chao Wisit Sriratbawon, 73, one of the voters for Pattaya mayor, said he is a local and has voted in many previous mayoral elections. This time, he hopes the new mayor will develop the city to prosper and expects transparent and honest governance.

In the Pattaya mayor and city council elections, there are 80,204 eligible voters across 113 polling stations in 4 districts.
