Fourth Announcement Warns of Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Check Provinces Expected to Be Affected

"Meteorological Department" Issued its fourth announcement warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall; check the provinces expected to be affected, which may cause flash floods and flash floods.


On 28 June 2026, the Meteorological Department announced the following: "Heavy to very heavy rainfall over Thailand and strong winds in the upper Andaman Sea, Announcement No. 4 (94/2569), effective from 28 June to 3 July 2026." It states that from 28 June to 3 July 2026, Thailand will experience increasing rainfall with some areas seeing heavy to very heavy rain, especially in the eastern region and the western side of the southern region. This is due to a monsoon trough passing over the north and upper northeastern regions combined with a strengthening southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Residents in these areas are advised to beware of dangers from heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which could cause flash floods and flash floods, particularly in hill slope areas near watercourses and lowlands.

Waves and winds in the upper Andaman Sea will be fairly strong from 29 June to 3 July 2026, with wave heights of 2-3 meters and waves exceeding 3 meters where thunderstorms occur. The lower Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand will have wave heights around 2 meters, with waves exceeding 2 meters in areas with thunderstorms. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea are advised not to depart from shore during this period.
