Chonburi Governor Expects Unofficial Pattaya Mayor Election Results by 9 PM

The Chonburi governor revealed that about 20-30% of voters had cast their ballots for Pattaya Mayor and City Council members by midday, and unofficial election results are expected by 9 PM.

At 11:30 AM on 28 June 2026, the voting atmosphere for Pattaya Mayor and City Council members at Muang Pattaya School 11, Electoral District 2, covering polling stations 8 to 15 across the Nong Yai community, Moo 6, Na Kluea Subdistrict, saw a steady flow of voters, though overall turnout remained light.

Narit Niramaiwong, Chonburi Governor, accompanied by Isra Charoenchasri, Deputy Governor of Chonburi, Kiattisak Sriwongchai, Director of Pattaya Election Commission, Pol. Col. Anek Sarathongyu, Chief of Pattaya Police Station, Anusak Piriyaomorn, Bang Lamung District Chief, along with the Chonburi Provincial Election Commission and related agencies, inspected polling stations 5 to 12 in Electoral District 2 to oversee the orderly conduct of the Pattaya mayoral and city council elections.

Governor Narit stated that Pattaya has a total of 113 polling stations and approximately 80,000 registered voters. Monitoring from the opening of the polls at 8 AM through mid-morning revealed no reports of irregularities or complaints regarding the election.

The Election Commission had conducted briefings and training for all officials and polling station chairpersons across all 113 stations, ensuring smooth operations.

Regarding voter turnout before noon, it was estimated that about 20-30% of registered voters had voted. The governor encouraged those who had not yet voted to proceed to their polling stations before the 5 PM closing time, noting that afternoon rain could affect travel.

The Chonburi governor also reminded voters unable to vote today to report their reasons within seven days as legally required.

He expressed gratitude to all officials involved in managing the election, noting that everything had proceeded smoothly so far with no abnormal incidents.

The vote counting is expected to yield unofficial results by no later than 9 PM on the same day, assuming the counting process follows the planned schedule.
