"Jek Wat" of the People's Party shed tears thanking all voters in the Pattaya mayoral election and congratulated the incumbent winner, "Poramet Ngampichet".
At 19:30 on 28 June 2026 at Flipper Lodge Hotel, Pattaya, Chonburi Province, Mr. Kittichai Techakulwanich, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, Mr. Pongsathon Sornpetchnarin, Deputy Secretary-General of the People's Party, Mr. Itthiwat Watanasathsorn, known as "Jek Wat," People's Party candidate for Pattaya mayor, and Mr. Yodchai Phuengporn, People's Party MP for Chonburi, held a press conference after the 2026 Pattaya election concluded and unofficial results were known.
Mr. Kittichai Techakulwanich, Deputy Leader of the People's Party, said that after learning the unofficial Pattaya election results, the People's Party was unable to win this time. Going forward, they will continue fieldwork to better understand the people's needs for the next four years.
Mr. Itthiwat Watanasathsorn, People's Party candidate for Pattaya mayor, congratulated the winner, Mr. Poramet Ngampichet, and thanked all voters and his team for their support to this day. He said they must work harder to show the public their efforts, not just policies, and believes this is a major task ahead.
With a trembling voice, Mr. Itthiwat said he loves Pattaya because the city has policies that improve quality of life, such as childcare services for working parents so they don’t have to bring their children to work, and for Koh Larn residents facing water supply problems, he hopes they can receive tap water at the same price as mainland residents. He asked the new Pattaya team to address these issues.
