32-Year-Old Man Beats 61-Year-Old Man Near Death, Drags Body onto Sidecar, Authorities Rush to Find Suspect

A 32-year-old man grabbed a stick and brutally beat a 61-year-old man nearly to death before dragging his body onto a motorcycle sidecar. He abandoned two guns nearby. Locals are deeply frightened and unwilling to share information. Rescue teams are urgently searching, suspecting the injured man was thrown into a pond.

At 17:30 on 30 June 2026, the administrative officials of Thung Nonsri Subdistrict, Khao Saming District, Trat Province, received reports of a violent fight with a seriously injured victim inside Soi Nakprasith, Village 9, Thung Nonsri Subdistrict. They coordinated with police from Khao Saming Station, local leaders, and rescue volunteers from Sawang Boon Chuay Khet Khao Saming to urgently respond. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities found neither the injured person nor the suspect.

Reviewing footage from a nearby home security camera clearly recorded the entire incident from start to finish. The incident began as Mr. Boonyoo, approximately 61, was out exercising—his first day doing so—when Mr. Witthawat, or Moss, 32, arrived on a Honda PCX motorcycle, stopped beside him, got off the bike, and a minor verbal dispute escalated into a physical fight.

When Mr. Boonyoo was unable to defend himself, he tried to grab a stick from a nearby pile of wood to protect himself but was overpowered. Mr. Moss seized the stick and struck Mr. Boonyoo on the head, causing him to fall. Locals who tried to intervene were shocked but unable to stop the attack.

The violence continued as Mr. Moss took a broom handle from the woodpile and repeatedly struck Mr. Boonyoo’s head before riding away. Shortly after, Mr. Moss returned, using a bamboo stick to hit Mr. Boonyoo’s head multiple times until the victim lay motionless.

Mr. Moss then rode back to his garden to switch to a blue motorcycle sidecar (saleng), returned to the scene, and dragged Mr. Boonyoo's body onto the sidecar. He fled with the victim to his durian orchard, where both disappeared.

After learning the escape route, authorities tracked Mr. Moss’s garden about 750 meters from the scene. At the rear of the garden, they found a bloodstain and two firearms—a handgun and a shotgun—placed side by side. No sign of the injured man was found. Officials suspect Mr. Moss dumped the victim’s body into a pond at the back of the orchard and have coordinated with rescue divers to search the pond.

Meanwhile, Police Sub-Lieutenant Pratchaya Pinrat, the duty officer at Khao Saming Police Station, along with the investigative team, inspected the scene and collected the two firearms as key evidence. Police and local officials are intensively pursuing Mr. Moss, conducting extensive searches in Thung Nonsri, Huai Raeng, Wang Takhian, and nearby subdistricts believed to be escape routes.

Preliminary information from locals indicates the motorcycle sidecar used in the crime crashed into a trash pile near the Ta Non reservoir area, Huai Raeng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Trat Province. However, upon inspection, neither Mr. Moss nor the sidecar was found.

Reporters on site attempted to interview locals and witnesses, but no one dared to share information or recount the incident due to fear that Mr. Moss might retaliate violently as he did against Mr. Boonyoo.

According to information from the Khao Saming Police investigative team and local residents, Mr. Moss has a history of drug involvement and frequent drug use. Police believe the brutal assault was likely triggered by drug-induced hallucinations or psychosis.

As of 21:00, rescue teams continue searching for Mr. Boonyoo’s body, while efforts to apprehend Mr. Moss remain ongoing.
