On 1 July 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued Announcement No. 10 regarding heavy to very heavy rainfall in Thailand and strong winds over the upper Andaman Sea. It states that from 1 to 3 July 2026, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in some areas, especially in the eastern and western southern regions. This is due to a monsoon trough passing through the North and upper Northeast regions, combined with a fairly strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. People in these areas are advised to be cautious of heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and flash floods, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and lowland areas.
Regarding sea conditions, the upper Andaman Sea will have fairly strong winds with waves 2-3 meters high. In areas experiencing thunderstorms, waves may exceed 3 meters. The lower Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves about 2 meters high, with waves exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorm areas.
