The National Water Resources Office issues a monitoring alert for areas experiencing "heavy rain" with close attention during 1-3 July 2026.
On 1 July 2026, the Facebook page ofthe National Water Resources Officeposted a message stating that the National Water Resources Office is issuing a close monitoring alert for heavy rain areas during 1-3 July 2026.
This is due to the monsoon trough crossing the northern and upper northeastern regions, combined with a fairly strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. Current rainfall tracking shows heavy and accumulated rain in the northern and western southern regions, with a continuing trend of ongoing rainfall.
Therefore, residents in Chiang Rai, Nan, Phang Nga, Phuket, and Krabi provinces are urged to continuously and closely monitor the rainfall situation, especially in areas at risk of flash floods, forest runoff, landslides, and riverbank overflows.
