Flooding in Phuket Subsides, Traffic Returns to Normal but Continuous Rainfall Remains a Concern

Flooding in Phuket has eased, allowing residents to use transportation routes normally. However, vigilance remains necessary due to ongoing rainfall, which may cause repeated waterlogging in some locations.

On 1 July 2026, the Phuket Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (DDPM Phuket) reported progress on the flooding situation in Phuket province, stating that as of 16:00, conditions had returned to normal at all points, with water levels dropping enough for residents to travel normally.

Earlier at 13:58, in Phuket Old Town on Phuket Road, Talad Yai Subdistrict, Mueang Phuket District—a heavily affected flooding area—water levels steadily decreased before returning to normal, allowing residents and drivers to resume normal travel.

Areas where the situation has eased and water levels returned to normal include Tha Krang Intersection, Bang Yai Canal near Phuket Vocational College, Charter Bank Intersection, Surin Roundabout (Clock Tower), and Kanchanawat Wittaya School area.

However, DDPM Phuket urges residents to closely follow news and official warnings from government agencies, as continued rainfall may cause repeated flooding in some spots. They also ask drivers to exercise increased caution, especially during periods of heavy continuous rain.
