
"Meteorological Department" Issues Warning No. 11: Thailand to experience heavy to very heavy rain from 1-3 July 2026, with possible flash floods and mudslides.

Particularly in the upper northeastern, eastern, and western southern regions due to a monsoon trough crossing northern and upper northeastern areas, combined with a fairly strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of dangers from heavy and accumulating rain, which may lead to flash floods and mudslides, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying zones.
Regarding sea conditions, the upper Andaman Sea will experience fairly strong winds with waves 2-3 meters high; in areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 3 meters. The lower Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves about 2 meters high, increasing over 2 meters where thunderstorms occur. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea are advised to remain ashore during this period.
As of 16:00, a tropical depression in the central South China Sea is centered at latitude 14.0°N and longitude 116.5°E, with maximum winds near the center around 55 km/h. It is moving westward at about 30 km/h and is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm. Between 4–6 July 2026, it will pass Hainan Island and make landfall in southern China. This storm does not directly affect Thailand's weather conditions.
