Warning Issued for Heavy Rain from 2-4 July Continuous Monitoring Urged

"National Water Resources Office" Issues warning for areas of "heavy rain" from 2-4 July 2026, urging continuous and close monitoring of the rainfall situation.

On 2 July 2026, the National Water Resources Office announced close monitoring of heavy rainfall areas from 2 to 4 July 2026, due to a monsoon trough shifting across upper northern and upper northeastern regions, combined with a relatively strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Current rainfall monitoring shows heavy accumulated rain in the northern region, with rain cloud clusters likely to continue, and forecasts indicate a risk of rivers overflowing their banks.

Therefore, residents in Chiang Rai and Phayao provinces are urged to maintain continuous and close vigilance over the rain situation, especially in areas prone to flash floods, mountain runoff, landslides, and river overflows.
