The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reports the influence of the "Maysak" storm caused heavy rain and flooding in four provinces. Although the situation has eased, the areas remain under close surveillance.
On 4 July 2026, the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation received reports of heavy rain, windstorms, and flash floods inundating homes in Chanthaburi, Rayong, Trat, and Chonburi provinces. Although the situation has now eased, officials continue to monitor conditions closely.
Mr. Theerapat Kachamat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, stated that the department had issued warnings to residents in 55 provinces across the North, Northeast, Central, and South regions to watch for flash floods, sudden flooding, waterlogging, and landslides during 4–6 July 2026, due to the influence of the storm. "Maysak" Although it did not directly affect Thailand, it caused increased rainfall in many areas, including some with heavy to very heavy rain. Today, the DDPM has received reports of disasters from Chanthaburi, Rayong, Trat, and Chonburi provinces as follows:
Experienced road flooding on Sukhumvit Road (in front of Wat Mangkon Buppharam), the Makham-Khlung route, and roads within the community around Wat Thong Thua. Local agencies installed warning signs and expedited water drainage. Additionally, rainfall caused flooding and river overflow into low-lying fruit orchards along riverbanks in Mueang Chanthaburi, Khao Khitchakut, Makham, Tha Mai, and Khlung districts. It is expected that if no further rain falls, the floodwaters will return to normal levels (information as of 16:00).
In the morning, a windstorm occurred in Ban Wang Wa, Village No. 1, Wang Wa subdistrict, damaging five houses. Local authorities deployed patrol vehicles, an 8-inch water pump, and response teams for assistance. On the Wang Ta Phin–Huai Prap road, floodwaters covered the road surface 15 cm deep over 300 meters. Five houses and shops were damaged. Relevant agencies provided aid and are currently assessing the damage.
Heavy rain in Bo Rai district caused flash floods that inundated homes in Dan Chumphon, Chang Thun, Nong Bon, and Bo Ploy subdistricts, totaling 16 houses. The Trat Provincial DDPM office provided 31 fiberglass boats to support Bo Rai and Khao Saming districts as well as Praneet and Sato subdistrict administrative organizations. Additionally, windstorms toppled trees onto homes in Bo Ploy subdistrict, causing damage to seven houses. Local authorities have provided assistance, and the situation has now eased.
In Bo Win subdistrict, Si Racha district, heavy rain caused floodwaters to damage a factory wall, washing foam materials into residents' homes. Si Racha district and local administrative organizations, along with volunteer rescue teams, assisted and assessed damages. The situation has now eased.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation emphasizes that provinces at risk should continuously and closely monitor the situation and coordinate rapid assistance, especially in communities, agricultural areas, economic zones, natural tourist sites, and road surfaces.
