
The Meteorological Department has issued its first bulletin warning of strong winds and heavy to very heavy rain affecting the west coast of the South, the western part of Central Thailand, and the East, with impacts expected from 10 to 15 July 2026.
On 8 July 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued Bulletin No. 1 regarding strong winds in the Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, and heavy to very heavy rain over the west coast of the South, western Central region, and the East (effective 10-15 July 2026).
It stated that from 10 to 15 July 2026, the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, causing rough seas in the upper Andaman Sea with waves 2-4 meters high, and waves exceeding 4 meters in areas of thunderstorms. In the upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea, waves will reach 2-3 meters, with waves over 3 meters in storm areas. Fishermen in these seas should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in thunderstorms. Small boats are advised to remain ashore during this period.
Between 11 and 14 July 2026, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in the west coast of the South, western Central region, and the East. Residents in these areas should be alert to dangers from heavy and accumulating rainfall that may cause flash floods and flash floods, especially in foothill zones near waterways and low-lying areas.
Meanwhile, Typhoon "Bavi" in the Pacific Ocean is forecasted to pass near Taiwan and make landfall on the eastern coast of Fujian Province, China, around 11–12 July 2026. This storm will not enter Thailand and thus will not directly affect Thailand's weather, but it will strengthen the southwest monsoon over the country. Travelers to these areas are advised to check weather conditions before their trips during this time.
