A zinc awning fell in the middle of Yaowarat after a storm with strong winds, injuring one person who was taken to the hospital.
On 8 July 2026, it was reported that at 20:20, a zinc awning fell in Soi Yaowapanich (Yaowarat), Samphanthawong district, due to a storm and strong gusts of wind.
Initially, one person was injured with a cut on the arm caused by the zinc. They have been taken to the hospital and are now in stable condition.
