Second Announcement: Check List of High-Risk Provinces for Heavy Rain from 11-14 July

The Meteorological Department issued the second announcement about strong waves and winds in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, listing provinces at risk to prepare for heavy to very heavy rain from 11-14 July 2026.

On 9 July 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentissued a notice concerning strong waves and winds in the upper Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, along with heavy to very heavy rain in the western southern region, the western part of the central region, and the eastern region, being the second announcement.

It stated that between 10-15 July 2026, the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, causing strong waves in the upper Andaman Sea with wave heights of 2-4 meters. In areas with thunderstorms, waves will exceed 4 meters. The upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea will have waves of 2-3 meters, with waves over 3 meters where thunderstorms occur. Mariners in these seas should navigate cautiously and avoid areas with thunderstorms. Small boats are advised not to depart during this period.

From 11-14 July 2026, the western southern region, western central region, and eastern region will experience heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, especially in Ranong, Phang Nga, Chanthaburi, Trat, and Kanchanaburi provinces. Residents in these areas should be cautious of dangers from heavy and accumulating rain, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff floods, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions.

Meanwhile, Typhoon "Bavi" in the Pacific Ocean is expected to pass over Taiwan and make landfall on the eastern coast of Fujian Province, China, around 11–12 July 2026. This typhoon will not enter Thailand and thus will not directly affect Thailand's weather. However, it will strengthen the southwest monsoon covering Thailand. Travelers to these areas are advised to check weather conditions before traveling during this period.

For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel cautiously during this time.
