On 9 July 2026, the Facebook page ofthe National Water Resources Officeposted a message stating a watch announcement! Heavy rain risk areas from 10 to 15 July 2026.
Due to a strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, the eastern, western, and western southern regions will experience heavy to very heavy rain in some areas.
Therefore, vigilance is advised for urban areas prone to regular flooding due to poor drainage, as well as areas at risk of flash floods, mountain runoff floods, landslides, and riverbank overflows between 10 and 15 July 2026 in Chanthaburi, Trat, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Surat Thani, Ranong, Phang Nga, and Phuket provinces.
Additionally, a watch has been issued for high tides. From 13 to 17 July 2026, influenced by the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, the southern region, and the Gulf of Thailand, wave and wind strength will increase, causing river mouths connected to the sea to experience higher water levels. This may lead to flooding in low-lying areas along the Chao Phraya, Mae Klong, and Tha Chin rivers, including communities outside permanent flood barriers and areas without permanent flood protection, as well as traffic routes such as Sukhumvit Road, Suksawat Road, and Rama II Road.
Relevant agencies are urged to monitor high tides in Samut Prakan, Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Sakhon, Nakhon Pathom, and Samut Songkhram provinces.
