The Meteorological Department has issued its third warning about strong winds and heavy rain, identifying provinces at risk of heavy to very heavy rainfall that may cause flash floods and flash floods from mountain runoff.

On 9 July 2026, the websiteof the Meteorological Departmentannounced a warning concerning strong winds in the Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, along with heavy to very heavy rainfall in the western southern region, western central region, and eastern region, in its third bulletin.

It stated that from 10 to 15 July 2026, the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand will intensify, causing strong winds in the upper Andaman Sea with waves 2-4 meters high. From 11 to 14 July 2026, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in the western southern region, western central region, and eastern region, especially in Ranong, Phang Nga, Chanthaburi, Trat, and Kanchanaburi provinces. Residents in these areas are urged to beware of the dangers from heavy and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and flash floods from mountain runoff, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying zones.

Meanwhile, typhoon 'Bavi' in the Pacific Ocean is expected to pass near Taiwan and make landfall on the eastern coast of Fujian Province, China, between 11 and 12 July 2026. Travelers to the affected areas should check weather conditions before departure during this period.
