The Meteorological Department issued Bulletin No. 5 checking areas of heavy to very heavy rain, effective until 15 July 2026. The Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand will have waves 2-4 meters high, and small boats are advised to remain ashore.
At 17:00 on 10 July 2026, the Meteorological Department released Bulletin No. 5 (121/2569) concerning strong winds in the Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, along with heavy to very heavy rainfall in the western southern region, western central region, and eastern region, effective until 15 July 2026. From 10 to 15 July, the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand will intensify, causing strong winds and waves in the upper Andaman Sea reaching 2-4 meters high, with waves over 4 meters where thunderstorms occur. The upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea will have waves 2-3 meters high, with waves over 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. Mariners in these seas are urged to navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms. Small boats should refrain from going out during this period.
Between 11 and 14 July 2026, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in the western southern region, western central region, and eastern region, especially in the provinces of Ranong, Phang Nga, Chanthaburi, Trat, and Kanchanaburi. Residents in these areas should be alert to dangers from heavy and accumulating rain, which may cause flash floods and mountain runoff, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Bavi in the Pacific Ocean is expected to pass near Taiwan and make landfall on the eastern coast of Fujian Province, China, around 11–12 July 2026. This typhoon will not enter Thailand and thus will not directly affect Thailand’s weather. However, it will strengthen the southwest monsoon over Thailand. Travelers in the affected areas are advised to check weather conditions before traveling during this period.
For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is urged to carefully plan their activities and travel during this time. People should follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and can access information anytime via the department’s website at http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and hotline 1182. The next bulletin will be issued on 11 July 2026 at 05:00.
