11July2026, websiteMeteorological Departmentissued Announcement No. 6 concerning strong waves in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand, along with heavy to very heavy rain in the southern west coast, western central region, and eastern region (effective until 15 July 2026)

It stated that from 11-15 July 2026, the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, causing strong waves in the upper Andaman Sea with heights of 2-4 meters; areas with thunderstorms may see waves exceeding 4 meters. The upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea will have waves 2-3 meters high; thunderstorms there may produce waves over 3 meters. Mariners in these seas should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in thunderstorm areas. Small boats should remain ashore during this period.

From 11-14 July 2026, the southern west coast, western central region, and eastern region will experience heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, especially in Ranong, Phang Nga, Chanthaburi, Trat, and Kanchanaburi provinces. Residents there should beware of dangers from heavy and accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and lowlands.

Meanwhile, Typhoon "Bavi" in the Pacific Ocean east of Taiwan is expected to make landfall on the eastern coast of Fujian Province, China, around 11–12 July 2026. This typhoon will not enter Thailand and thus will not directly affect Thailand's weather but will strengthen the southwest monsoon over Thailand. Travelers to the area should check weather conditions before departure during this period.

For safety and to reduce possible impacts, the public is advised to plan daily activities and travel cautiously during this time. People should follow announcements from the Meteorological Department and can access information on its website.http://www.tmd.go.thor call 0-2399-4012-13 and hotline 1182, available 24 hours
