Buriram provincial authorities launched a coordinated raid on a popular entertainment venue in Nang Rong district that was operating without a license, serving beyond legally permitted hours, and allowing minors under 20 to enter. A five-year closure is being considered.
Late on 11 July 2026, Buriram Governor Piya Pichinarm ordered Naruechit Rungsila, Buriram's provincial prevention chief, to lead a special administrative task force alongside Nang Rong district chief Prachya Suwantha, district official Jakrit Ruamkul, security officer Thanthornphon Khwaiphan, administrative officials, and Nang Rong police to raid an entertainment venue in Nang Rong district.
This was part of Operation 90 Days: The 90-Day Strategic Plan to Eradicate Drugs, following complaints from the public that the venue was operating without a permit, serving past allowed hours, and permitting minors to enter.
Upon inspection, many patrons were found enjoying the venue's services, including live music and alcohol sales.
The venue lacked a business license, was operating beyond legal hours, and allowed nine minors under 20 to enter. Authorities separated these individuals for verification, contacted their guardians, and followed legal procedures to protect the minors. They also searched for illegal items and conducted drug tests on staff and patrons, all of which returned negative.
Initially, officials arrested the venue manager on multiple charges: 1. Operating without a license; 2. Selling alcohol beyond permitted hours; 3. Selling alcohol to persons under 20; 4. Encouraging or permitting minors to behave improperly or engage in risky conduct; 5. Advertising alcohol in a way that promotes or entices consumption directly or indirectly.
Officials seized related evidence and handed the suspect and evidence to Nang Rong police for legal proceedings.
The venue's actions also clearly violated the National Council for Peace and Order's Order 22/2015 dated 22 July 2015. It is therefore classified as an illegal establishment in violation of the order. Authorities will notify the Buriram governor to order the venue's closure for five years.
