
Update on the fire at a liquor store in the Lat Phrao area: the blaze has been extinguished, with the latest report confirming 27 deaths. The Prime Minister has visited the scene.
Following the fire at a restaurant in the Lat Phrao area at 23:57 on 12 Jul 2026, which caused numerous deaths and injuries,
the Facebook pageFire & Rescue Thailandhas updated the situation, stating that at 00:32 the fire inside the restaurant near Lat Phrao Soi 1 has been extinguished. Further details are under investigation. The latest death toll is 27, including 9 men and 18 women.
Later at 01:44, Anutin Charnvirakul, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, revealed that most victims died from smoke inhalation. The police and forensic teams are investigating the cause to obtain accurate information.
Preliminary inquiries with musicians present at the scene reported that smoke came from the stage cut-out, followed by a power outage, then an explosion and more smoke. Most victims fled toward the back of the building near the restrooms, where there was no clear emergency exit.
However, this is an initial assumption based on survivor accounts. Currently, the death toll stands at 27, while the injured have been sent to hospitals. Data collection is ongoing.
