A fire at the Brewery at Ladprao near Ladprao Soi 1 caused 27 deaths and 63 injuries sent to hospitals, pushing the hashtag #ไฟไหม้ (#Fire) to trend on social media.
On 13 July 2026, a fire broke out at the “Brewery at Ladprao” bar near Ladprao Soi 1, resulting in 27 fatalities—9 men and 18 women—with most bodies found near the bar's restroom, as previously reported.
After rescue personnel transported 25 deceased from the scene (with 2 additional deaths at the hospital) to the forensic department at Police General Hospital,
at 04:10, officials cordoned off the scene, strictly barring unauthorized access for safety reasons, as the area was still permeated with smoke and the smell of burning.
Additionally, authorities instructed uninvolved persons to return home so cleaning could proceed and the traffic surface be restored by morning. The fire’s cause remains under investigation with forensic experts conducting on-site examinations.
Meanwhile, on social media following the incident, the hashtag#ไฟไหม้ (#Fire)quickly trended online. Some who had previously visited the bar shared photos and the atmosphere inside before the tragic event.
At 04:20, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt summarized the incident: the fire at the Brewery near Ladprao Soi 1 was reported to the Sutthisan Fire Department, which arrived within five minutes. Upon arrival, fire had spread inside the bar, resulting in 27 deaths and 63 hospitalizations, 22 in critical condition, many suffering smoke inhalation and requiring ventilator support.
So far, only six of the 27 deceased have been identified. Of the 63 injured, some have identification cards while others remain unconscious. The priority is contacting relatives. If anyone has family or acquaintances involved and unaccounted for, they are urged to contact the Assistant District Officer of Chatuchak at 08-1734-1298 to provide information. Additionally, coordination centers are set up at Phahon Yothin MRT Station Exit 4 and the forensic department of Police General Hospital.
The National Institute for Emergency Medicine will investigate the fire’s origin, as the flames spread rapidly. The bar had legally obtained permits to operate as a restaurant with live music. There are two emergency exits, but authorities must verify whether these were obstructed at the time of the fire. The district office had conducted an inspection in April.
Inside the bar, the ceiling was completely burned, but plastic chairs remained intact, suggesting the fire itself may not have been the main cause of fatalities; rather, fast-moving smoke was critical. The emergency exit was on the left, and restrooms on the right. When the power went out, many may have been confused, highlighting the need to review emergency lighting.
The Bangkok Governor expressed condolences for the tragedy and offered support, encouraging concerned relatives to contact authorities to provide information.
