
The OIC has ordered the establishment of a coordination center to receive information on fatalities from the incident. On 13 July 2026, Mr. Chuchat Pramulpol, Secretary-General of the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC), stated that following the fire at the Ladprao brewery near Ladprao Soi 1, Chomphon Subdistrict, Chatuchak District, Bangkok, on 12 July 2026, which caused numerous deaths and injuries, the OIC extends its deepest condolences to the families of the deceased, the injured, and all affected by the incident.
He ordered prompt insurance assistance for victims and heirs of the deceased and directed the establishment of a coordination center at the OIC office on Ratchadaphisek Road, Bangkok, to serve as a central hub for receiving cases, verifying insurance benefits, and providing consultation to ease the burden on those affected by the incident.
He assigned Mr. Adisorn Phipatvorapong, Deputy Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and Inspection, and Ms. Chatchawarin Chotchutrakul, Assistant Secretary-General for Rights Protection, along with rights protection staff, to monitor the situation on site, verify facts, and coordinate with relevant agencies to facilitate insurance benefit access for the injured and heirs closely.
Mr. Adisorn Phipatvorapong, Deputy Secretary-General for Legal Affairs and Inspection, said the OIC has coordinated with Police Major General Pallop Aermla, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, and related agencies to compile information on the deceased and injured. They are verifying data through the centralized Insurance Bureau System (IBS) to identify relevant insurance policies and benefits for each victim. The OIC is also coordinating with insurance companies to review coverage and consider compensation claims per policy terms to ensure timely and fair assistance to victims and heirs.
Preliminary insurance data review shows the establishment had fire insurance with Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited, policy number 12001-108-260189414, effective from 18 March 2026 to 18 March 2027, with total coverage of 40 million baht. Coverage includes the building, building improvements, furniture, permanent fixtures, electrical appliances, and stock. Damage assessment from the fire is currently underway.
Additionally, the OIC is working closely with the insurer to verify whether the deceased and injured held other types of insurance such as life, personal accident (PA), health, or other relevant coverages, to ensure victims and heirs receive full insurance benefits according to policy terms and coverage.
Mr. Adisorn added that unexpected incidents can occur at any time. He urged restaurant operators, entertainment venues, and other businesses to recognize the importance of risk management through insurance—such as fire insurance, property insurance, business interruption insurance, or third-party liability insurance—as essential tools to mitigate losses and reduce economic impact from unforeseen events.
The OIC will continue to closely monitor and coordinate insurance assistance for victims and heirs until completion.
