On 14 July 2026, reporters visited house number 153, Village 3, San Sai Ngam Subdistrict, Thoeng District, Chiang Rai Province, the hometown of 24-year-old Policewoman Pemika Onsri, a security police officer of Division 4, Police Bureau 3, assigned to the Government House. She died in the fire at a brewery in Ladprao, amid a deeply sorrowful atmosphere shared by her parents, Sergeant Major Prasert Onsri, 56, and Mrs. Malee Onsri, 60, mourning the loss of their eldest daughter forever.Tags: [Chiang Rai, family, policewoman, fire victim, brewery fire, mourning]

Sergeant Major Prasert expressed pride in his daughter, saying Policewoman Pemika had been determined and disciplined since childhood. After graduating from the Rajabhat Institute in public administration, she aimed to enter government service to honor the family. She diligently prepared for police and civil service exams, passing both but ultimately chose to follow her father's footsteps in the police force. She was appointed in October 2025 and had just been promoted to Policewoman three months ago before this tragic incident.Tags: [police career, determination, discipline, education, family pride, promotion]

Regarding compensation, Sergeant Major Prasert said that her unit is gathering documents to process benefits according to civil service regulations, including salary and the Government Pension Fund. The establishment has been informed and initially offered 20,000 baht in compensation per death.Tags: [compensation, civil service benefits, police unit, pension fund, establishment response]

"From the family's perspective, the amount offered is insufficient. However, from the establishment's viewpoint, entertainment venues operate with customers' voluntary attendance, so risks must be accepted. What I want to emphasize to operators nationwide is safety measures, especially concerning rumors about locking fire escape doors to prevent customers from leaving without paying. If true, this is unforgivable and very serious. I do not want my daughter's life and that of fellow officer Policewoman Sitthichok to be lost without improvements to safety measures," Sergeant Major Prasert said painfully.Tags: [safety measures, fire escape, locked doors, compensation, family statement, police victim]

Earlier, at 19:00 on 13 July 2026, the family went to the Forensic Institute at Police Hospital to receive the body with heavy hearts, joined by fellow security police officers from Bureau 3 who honored their fallen colleague. The family will hold religious rites at their home in Thoeng for three days, with cremation scheduled for Friday, 17 July. The father added that they did not send invitation cards as the incident is widely known nationwide. The family expressed gratitude for all the concern and support received.Tags: [funeral, forensic institute, police community, family mourning, cremation, public support]
