Netizens are asking, who is he? A mysterious man in full military uniform followed the Prime Minister inspecting the Lat Phrao brewery fire and gave staged interviews to the media, sparking rumors that the venue did not allow customers to leave without paying first.
On 14 Jul 2026 GMT+7, the Lat Phrao brewery fire incident resulted in 30 deaths and 75 injuries, as previously reported.
Recently, social media shared images of a man dressed like a military officer giving interviews to the media and, at one point, following Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul as he inspected the fire scene on the day of the incident.
: : " : The Facebook page "Sao Pao - This Matters" posted a photo of the man with a message stating: “Regarding the drama many people wondered about the 'man in full military dress' at the Lat Phrao brewery fire scene, it has been revealed that he is a volunteer and a former Bangkok Metropolitan Council candidate from the 'Bangkok Flying' group. He is not an official, not a firefighting expert, and had no role in the incident response. Yet, he was able to enter the restricted area and was interviewed by multiple media outlets, closely following the Deputy Prime Minister and providing various information at the scene. Earlier, he had just returned from a BB Gun competition. Importantly, he was one of the sources of the false rumor that 'the shop did not allow customers to leave until payment was made,' which was then widely shared despite being untrue.”
After the post was shared, many people commented, for example: "Just returned from BB Gun competition, dressed so formally, even following the Prime Minister throughout the event — if I were him, I’d believe it too," "It’s been confirmed he is from the Palm Unit," "Supreme Commander of the BB Gun Association," "Still wearing the BB Gun uniform that late at night?" "Still playing the role, having just received an award, must keep up appearances," and so on.
If there are any updates or statements from the man himself, we will report them accordingly.
