The daughter contacted police to retrieve the belongings of her mother and her mother's friend who died together at a brewery. She was saddened to see the last photos on the phone. She revealed that the business has not yet contacted them for compensation and urged that the business should contact relatives directly without involving the police. She also noted that the initial 10,000 baht compensation may be insufficient.
At 10:00 a.m. on 15 July 2026, Ms. Kanthicha Singkhor, 24, daughter of Mrs. Phanicha Singkhor, 48, who died in the brewery fire at Lat Phrao, came to Phahonyothin Police Station to collect belongings including bags and valuables such as a Cartier bracelet and gold, as well as the bag of her mother's friend who also died. The friend was a single mother with no relatives. Yesterday, she had already collected the mobile phone.
Ms. Kanthicha said she came today to collect the belongings of her mother and her mother's close friend, who died together at the same place and are having a joint funeral because they were very close. When she opened her mother's phone, she saw a photo of them together taken at 11:23 p.m. just before the incident. Her mother had told only her son and grandson that she would not come home that day, without seeing it as an omen because her mother was out as usual.
She has yet to meet the business's lawyer and has not received any contact regarding compensation. She feels the 10,000 baht offered for funeral expenses may be insufficient, as she had to borrow money to cover the funeral costs. So far, only the Poh Teck Tung Foundation has provided 20,000 baht for the funeral. She has not yet applied for more funds as she wants to complete the funeral first but worries compensation may not be fairly given. She is surprised why the business or their lawyer has not contacted the relatives directly and why the family must contact the police station, especially since many have returned to their hometowns. She wants the business to take more responsibility by contacting relatives directly, as the police have the phone numbers. She urges the business to provide compensation as soon as possible.
