Latest update "Ladprao Brewery Fire" The death toll has surged to 33, with 16 patients in critical condition. Authorities are still examining evidence to determine the cause of the fire.


At 17:00 on 15 July 2026, a report from Phahonyothin Police Station stated that Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiatikul Sonthienorn, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 2, attended a meeting with relevant agencies regarding the "Ladprao Brewery" fire, which resulted in 33 deaths and over 70 injuries.

After more than three hours of discussion, the Metropolitan Police Division 2 Commander revealed that the death toll is now confirmed at 33, following the death of the latest injured person, lead singer Mr. Din, at 17:56 at Rajavithi Hospital. All identities have been confirmed, with 31 bodies handed over to families. Currently, 71 patients remain hospitalized: 16 in critical condition, 12 serious, and 43 stable.

Regarding the investigation, police from Metropolitan Police Division 2 and Phahonyothin Police Station have interviewed 96 witnesses, including one shop owner, 26 staff members, 56 relatives of the deceased and injured, 10 officials involved in the scene examination, and three structural and environmental experts.

Additionally, the Electricity Authority reported that the shop owner had applied to increase electrical capacity from 30/100 amps to 200 amps about two months after opening, as the original system was insufficient. However, the new system had not yet been installed. Documents and supporting evidence are under review.

Initial CCTV analysis from forensic evidence showed smoke starting near the ceiling above the stage by the right-side door about 15 seconds before flames erupted. The total time from smoke appearance to full blaze was around one minute, occurring at approximately 23:49 before the fire intensified at about 23:50.

Meanwhile, forensic teams continue examining scientific evidence to establish the exact cause of the fire.

Regarding business licensing, the venue was originally authorized as a restaurant. Officials responsible for issuing permits and building inspections have been summoned for questioning, while additional documents are awaited from the district office.

Concerning reports of locked exit doors, police are still collecting evidence, as media reports and witness statements have been inconsistent. Key witnesses will be called for further testimony to clarify the facts.

In the case of "Lieutenant Nut," a man dressed like a police officer, he has been summoned as a witness present during the incident. Authorities will thoroughly investigate his role during the event.

Authorities have set up a 24-hour assistance center at Phahonyothin Police Station to receive complaints, return victims' property, and support families of the deceased and those affected. They reaffirm their commitment to quickly gather evidence and prosecute all responsible parties according to the law.
