The mother brought documents to claim the body of "Din," lead singer of the Tosakan band, at the forensic institute. She expressed gratitude to the doctors for their efforts to save his life despite severe damage to his body and internal organs. She conveyed to her son not to worry; his parents will try to be strong.
On 16 July 2026 at the Forensic Institute of the Police Hospital, Mrs. Jansuda Tanla, 49, mother of "Nong Din," the lead singer of the Tosakan band, brought documents to retrieve her son's body.
Mrs. Jansuda revealed the family had known about her son's condition since 2 July when he was admitted to Rajavithi Hospital. On her first visit, when she called his name, Din nodded in acknowledgment, so she said, "Mom and Dad are here, don't worry." Afterwards, doctors explained Din's condition was critical among all the injured. Over 80% of his body was severely burned, and he inhaled toxic smoke; the heat also caused almost total internal organ damage, especially to the lungs. Medically, he likely would have died at the scene, but doctors said Din fought hard and the medical team did everything possible to save him.
By the morning of the second day, doctors called the family to inform them that his vital organs had failed and could no longer be restored. They said it was now a matter of how long his body could be sustained. She expressed thanks to the Rajavithi Hospital medical team for doing everything to save her son.
When asked about the 10,000 baht compensation, the mother admitted that from a public perspective it seemed small, as it was less than the minimum wage for several days. However, she refrained from commenting further since she had not yet discussed it with the venue and planned to consult with other bereaved families before deciding on any actions. Regarding who should be held primarily responsible, she said it was up to the relevant authorities to consider according to the law.
Regarding the venue's instruction for victims to contact them via their page to claim compensation, the mother said she had not examined the details because she had been focused entirely on caring for her son. She had assigned the band leader to coordinate follow-ups.
The mother also shared about her son that Din was unmarried, had no debts, and had always helped ease the family's burdens. He had planned for her to quit her job and open a small restaurant after the economy improved. Din intended to continue singing to support the family, but all those dreams came to an end.
She said Din loved singing since he was a child, learned to play guitar, figured out chords, wrote songs, and was determined to pursue a serious career as a musician.
The mother revealed she always reminded her son before performances to note the entrances, exits, and emergency escape routes because she remembered the Santika pub fire tragedy well. Din would always say he checked each time and never took risks. After learning the venue was in that area, she admitted feeling shocked because it was quite cramped and unsuitable for crowded entertainment venues. In emergencies, evacuation would be difficult. After receiving the body, the family plans to hold funeral rites at Wat Sawangphop in Khlong Si Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province.
Finally, the mother tearfully sent a message to her son, wishing him to journey to a better realm and told him not to worry about his parents, as they would strive to stay strong and continue living. She thanked him for never causing problems or burdens throughout his life and for always being a devoted son to the family.
