Samrong Tai Police Station are reviewing CCTV footage and the timeline regarding the mysterious death of a 63-year-old woman found inside the "butcher's car." The victim’s son remains puzzled and urges officials to quickly determine the cause. He revealed his mother suffered from insomnia and regularly took medication as prescribed by doctors.

Officials received a report from Samut Prakan province that the butcher, owner of the meat stall, was shocked after parking his sedan to prepare for opening his shop. Later, at 11:30 a.m. on 16 July 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Adun Molkajaroen, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Samrong Tai Police Station, Samut Prakan, led a team to the apartment of Mr. Chanasilp, the car owner, to re-examine CCTV footage to determine when the deceased entered the vehicle. They also checked the route Mr. Chanasilp took from his apartment to the scene to see if the car stopped along the way. The investigation aims to clarify how the woman got into the car.

The deceased was sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death, and authorities are awaiting the forensic results from the Police General Hospital's Forensic Institute.

Meanwhile, Pol. Lt. Col. Thanandorn Saengkam, the investigator at Samrong Tai Police Station, summoned the deceased’s son for further questioning. It was learned that Mrs. Sasithorn, aged 67, went missing from her home in Soi Sapboonchan in Mueang Samut Prakan district. The family reported her missing to Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, and have been searching for her since.

Today, the family went to collect Mrs. Sasithorn’s body from the Forensic Institute at the Police General Hospital to perform religious rites at Bang Ping Temple in Mueang Samut Prakan district, Samut Prakan province.

The deceased’s son said his mother disappeared from home on 14 July 2026, and the family reported her missing to Mueang Samut Prakan Police Station. They have been searching continuously. She had no underlying illnesses but suffered from insomnia and disliked hot weather. She often went outside, sometimes to buy groceries or take walks.

He also said his mother regularly took sleeping medication as prescribed due to her insomnia. However, the family remains concerned about how she ended up dying inside this sedan. They want the police to thoroughly investigate, including reviewing CCTV near the scene, to understand when and how she got into the car and the circumstances of her death.
