
A school field trip bus lost control and overturned in Surin Province. Fortunately, 51 students and 6 teachers sustained only minor injuries. Authorities are urgently investigating the cause.
On 17 July 2026 at about 11:00 a.m., on Highway 214 in front of Ban Tanluak Temple, Kang Aen Subdistrict, Prasat District, Surin Province, the 191 Radio Center of Prasat Police Station received a report of a school bus overturning. Police and rescue teams were dispatched to the scene.
At the scene, the overturned school bus from Ban Angoon School, Jai Dee Subdistrict, Khukhan District, Sisaket Province, was found lying on its side. The location is on a straight road with good visibility and no rain, but the cause of the accident was unknown. Police conducted blood and urine tests on the driver, Mr. Prasert, which showed no drugs. Fortunately, the bus only slid off the road onto its side, and the students sustained only minor injuries not requiring hospital treatment.
Teachers reported that they were taking 51 students and 6 teachers on a field trip to Hastin Surin, a new vintage-style landmark, and were traveling to another destination when the accident occurred. Fortunately, no students were seriously injured or killed. The cause of the accident is under police investigation.
