The charity concert featuring Sek Loso at Somwang Grilled Chicken restaurant in Pathum Thani raised funds to purchase musical instruments and sports equipment to be given to students of Wat Bangpoon School.
Reporters said that late on 17 Jul 2016, Somwang Grilled Chicken, located at 36/39 Moo 2, Rangsit-Pathum Road, Ban Klang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Pathum Thani, held a charity concert with Sek Loso to raise funds for musical instruments to be given to students at Wat Bangpoon School. It was found that many children enjoy playing music but lack instruments because the school's equipment was damaged and insufficient, as well as sports gear. Hence, this charity concert was organized.
Part of the proceeds aimed to help students obtain musical instruments and sports equipment for learning and practice. The event atmosphere was lively, with many attendees donating to give the children opportunities to use musical instruments and sports gear, encouraging them to spend their free time productively and stay away from drugs.
Additionally, a charcoal portrait painted by teacher Eed, known as “Eed Footpath,” a widely recognized musician and artist, was auctioned at the event. The painting depicted Sek Loso and was auctioned among attendees in an energetic atmosphere. The winning bidder was Mr. Suphawat Kosolchotitham, owner of "Krua Ruay Mit" restaurant near Talad Thai Market, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani, who paid 25,000 baht and donated an extra 10,000 baht to support the school. The total funds raised from donors and the restaurant owner amounted to 80,000 baht, which the school principal personally received.
Mr. Chalongkan Rungsaenyakorn (Aod Somwang Grilled Chicken), the restaurant owner, said he learned from the Wat Bangpoon School director that the school lacked musical instruments and sports equipment for children interested in arts and sports. He planned and gathered donors to organize this charity concert, aiming for the children to fully benefit from the instruments. Knowing some school instruments were broken and insufficient, he wanted to contribute to help the children develop musical skills, which also improves concentration and encourages them to spend their free time constructively, keeping them away from drugs.
