Sa Kaeo – Border Patrol Police Company 2 has set up strict checkpoints at the Ta Phraya border to intercept illegal workers, scammers, drugs, and weapons, closely monitoring and following the situation along the border.
On 19 July 2026, reporters reported that the Border Patrol Police continue to enforce security measures along the Thai–Cambodian border to prevent all forms of illegal activities. Task Force Company 2 of the Border Patrol Police (Border Patrol Police Company 2) deployed one operational unit led by Lieutenant Ong-art Dechchuang to establish a checkpoint and inspection point for people and vehicles traveling on Route 3308, the Ban Saeng–Ban Thap Seri route, at checkpoint T.08 Ban Saeng, Village No. 2, Thap Sadet Subdistrict, Ta Phraya District, Sa Kaeo Province. This route connects border areas and has continuous civilian traffic.
This operation follows measures to tighten security and safety in the border area. Officials conduct detailed inspections of people, vehicles, identification documents, and belongings of travelers passing the checkpoint to prevent and suppress illegal acts that could threaten national security.
Officials focus on intercepting illegal immigration, movements linked to call center or scam gangs, smuggling of weapons and hazardous materials, trafficking of all types of drugs, transport of counterfeit goods, tax evasion products, and smuggling of illegal fuel. These offenses affect the country's economy and security. During the checkpoint operation, officials exercised caution and followed standard procedures, facilitating travelers while conducting inspections to avoid disrupting traffic. They also aimed to reassure local residents that security agencies continue to monitor and closely track border situations.
The operation's results found no offenders, no illegal immigrants, no drugs, weapons, illegal goods, or illicit fuel at the checkpoint. Nevertheless, Border Patrol Police Company 2 will continue to conduct checkpoints, roadblocks, and patrols in their area to prevent transnational crime, illegal activities, and to protect the safety of lives and property of people living along the Sa Kaeo border.
