On 20 July 2026, reporters reported that Mrs. Panyasiri Thuraphon, president of Chiangwang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Phen District, Udonthani, and wife of Mr. Rang Thuraphon, MP for Udonthani District 3, posted on her personal Facebook a photo of Mr. Rang cycling and waving, along with the message. “This morning, the MP peacefully left us at 08:15 on 20 July 2026. We love and deeply mourn Rang Thuraphon, our hometown’s great Bodhi tree.” Many followers expressed condolences, and the relatives have moved the body for religious rites at their residence in Ban Sra Khrai, Chiangwang Subdistrict, Phen District, Udonthani.

Mr. Rang Thuraphon was born on 1 April 1957, aged 69. He was a native of Chiangwang Subdistrict, Phen District, Udonthani. His political history includes serving five terms as president of Chiangwang Subdistrict Administrative Organization and two terms as MP for Udonthani District 3 (Phen, Sangkhom, and parts of Mueang District). He first ran for MP in 2007 with the Chart Thai Party but was not elected. He then joined the Thai Sang Thai Party and ran for MP of Udonthani District 3 (26 May 2023 – Dec 2025), winning election before later moving to the Bhumjaithai Party. He ran again for MP of Udonthani District 3 and was elected, serving until his death.
Mr. Rang passed away at 08:15 today (20 July) at Bangkok Udonthani Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for lung cancer. He had been ill since running for election and was unable to attend the parliamentary vote for Prime Minister Anutin because he was hospitalized.
