TCP Group Reveals Four Dimensions of Investment at Thailand-China Forum, Emphasizes Success Beyond Financial Performance

TCP Group revealed four dimensions of investment that create shared value—economic, innovation, people, and community—at the Thailand – China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Forum held in Chengdu.

On 20 Jul 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Sarawut Yoovidhya, CEO of TCP Group, joined a delegation of Thai government and private sector representatives visiting the People's Republic of China. They attended the “2026 Thailand - China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Cooperation Seminar” in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, led by the Prime Minister and the Board of Investment (BOI). The event marked the opening of BOI's new office in Chengdu and aimed to expand trade and investment cooperation between Thailand and China, especially focusing on western China where Sichuan is a key economic hub.

Mr. Sarawut spoke at the seminar on the topic “Growing with China: Why TCP Group Chose Sichuan.” He stated that the economic relationship between Thailand and China is built not only on trade and investment but also on trust, mutual understanding among people, and a commitment to building a future where both sides grow together.

“TCP Group's experience may not be a formula for every company, but it exemplifies what can happen when government, business, and community closely collaborate, aiming not just for successful investment but for long-term growth benefiting all parties,” Mr. Sarawut said.

TCP Group was founded in Thailand 70 years ago, growing from a leading Thai beverage producer into a global food and beverage conglomerate, owning the Red Bull trademark sold in over 170 countries. China has always been one of the company's most strategic markets.

TCP Group's connection with China began with its founder, Mr. Chaliew Yoovidhya, a Thai-Chinese businessman and Red Bull trademark owner, who established the first Red Bull factory, known locally as “Hongniu,” in Hainan Province in 1993. This marked the start of over 33 years of continuous business operations in China.

Currently, TCP Group has accumulated investments in China exceeding 4.36 billion yuan. Its operations include the China headquarters in Beijing and two modern production bases: one in Neijiang, Sichuan Province, and another in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region—both fully operational.

All business operations are guided by the concept “In China, For China,” aiming to grow alongside China through investment, manufacturing, innovation, and product development that genuinely meet Chinese consumers' needs. This philosophy was key in deciding to invest in Sichuan, which offers outstanding production potential, logistics systems, skilled workforce, and a strategic location linking important markets in western China.

Mr. Sarawut noted that the most confidence-inspiring factors for the company are not just market size or infrastructure but the stability rooted in policy and the attitude of people ready to collaborate with investors as partners.

“When we met government representatives from Sichuan Province and Neijiang city, what impressed us most was their first question—not about how much TCP Group would invest, but how they could help TCP invest and succeed. For me, this is the true beginning of a genuine partnership,” Mr. Sarawut said.

Throughout developing the Neijiang production base—from project approval, construction, start of operations, to capacity expansion—TCP Group worked closely with the Sichuan provincial government, Neijiang city, Neijiang Economic and Technological Development Zone, and related agencies. This cooperation enabled continuous operational development and assured long-term growth for the investment in Sichuan.

Mr. Sarawut sees that although the Sichuan investment began with building a production base, its true value lies in creating opportunities and growth for the local economy and society. Good investments build more than factories; they create opportunities, capabilities, and growth for all stakeholders. Today, TCP Group and Sichuan are growing together in four key dimensions: shared economic growth, joint innovation growth, growth in interpersonal friendships, and growth alongside the community.

“Business success should not be measured by financial results alone but also by the positive impact created for people, communities, and society. This is the type of organization TCP Group strives to be,” Mr. Sarawut said.

Based on TCP Group’s experience in China, Mr. Sarawut believes that choosing an investment location should not separate cost, location, or market size but consider the overall ecosystem, including policy direction, quality of personnel, government agency efficiency, readiness of business partners, and ability to connect with consumers.

For Sichuan Province, the key strengths lie not just in infrastructure or location in western China but in the area's openness, professionalism of relevant agencies, and readiness to build long-term relationships with investors.

Mr. Sarawut concluded, “TCP Group came to Sichuan to invest, but what we gained is far more valuable. We have created jobs, developed industries, promoted cultural exchange, and supported local communities. For me, this is the true meaning of sustainable investment.”
