Meeting to Drive Raks Khao Khayai Chainat Foundation Aims to Promote Khao Khayai as a Learning Center

The Raks Khao Khayai Chainat Foundation board met to promote Khao Khayai as a learning center and appointed Dr. Pichet Wanthong as the new chairman, replacing Suttipong Juljaroen after his term ended.


On 20 July 2026 at 14:30, Mr. Suttipong Juljaroen, former Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and chairman of the Raks Khao Khayai Chainat Foundation, presided over the foundation's 1/2569 board meeting at the Luang Pho Kuai Chutintharo meeting room, 2nd floor, Chainat Primary Educational Service Area Office.

Dr. Pichet Wanthong, Inspector General of the Ministry of Education, served as a board member and secretary, joined by foundation board members and government agencies including Mr. Nirut Khemngoen, Director of Chainat Primary Educational Service Area Office, his deputies, Dr. Patthanaporn Thaipibulb, Chainat Provincial Education Officer, Mr. Wisarut Kwanpheng, District Chief of Mueang Chainat, business, private sector, and civil society representatives.

The meeting reviewed the foundation’s activities over the past 10 years since its establishment in 2016 and planned to advance the foundation according to the Royal Initiative Project on Plant Genetic Conservation by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. The goal is to make Khao Khayai a learning center for students and youth, a place for exercise, and relaxation.

Plans include developing infrastructure at Khao Khayai for youth learning activities such as sky fox, walking, running, cycling around the mountain, bird and plant watching as a natural study site covering tree benefits, global warming mitigation, the '3 Trees 4 Benefits' concept, '5 Levels of Trees,' making 'Klum Kan Krok' pits, water-loving forests, soil restoration, following the King's philosophy, and historical development, with emphasis on public participation around the area.

The foundation chairman also directed the creation of an action plan involving multiple sectors to ensure coordinated development, along with a proactive publicity plan to raise Khao Khayai’s profile widely, attracting youth, government, private, and public sectors to use and further develop the area sustainably.

The meeting elected Dr. Pichet Wanthong as the new chairman of the Raks Khao Khayai Foundation, replacing Mr. Suttipong Juljaroen after his term ended. Dr. Pichet will fully pursue the foundation’s objectives and the board’s directives to mobilize volunteers locally and nationwide, encouraging all sectors to collectively drive sustainable positive change at Khao Khayai.
