On 23 July 2026, reporters reported that on 26 July 2026, the Local Executive Career Path exam will be held at five venues across five regions: Chiang Mai, Udon Thani-Khon Kaen, Pathum Thani, Chonburi, and Nakhon Si Thammarat. There are a total of 37,359 candidates, with Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus organizing the exam.
Reporters visited The DEC 1 and The DEC 2 conference buildings located within Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus, Khlong Nueng Subdistrict, Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani Province, which serve as exam venues for the Local Executive Career Path exam held across five regions.
Reporters requested permission to film inside the exam venue and interview staff involved in organizing the exam but were declined. Officials at The DEC 1 and The DEC 2 informed that on 26 July 2026, the exam will have 3,580 candidates in the morning session and 3,589 in the afternoon session.
This venue is one of five exam locations, with exams also held in the provinces of Pathum Thani, Khon Kaen, Chonburi, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Chiang Mai.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirasak Hadda, president of the Subdistrict Administrative Organization Association of Thailand, told the media he is confident that the Local Executive Career Path exam conducted by Thammasat University will be transparent and free from corruption. He explained that most candidates are already senior local civil servants, so they are unlikely to risk their careers by engaging in misconduct or illegal activities.
Candidates aiming for executive positions must be good role models, confident in their knowledge and skills, and possess the qualifications to lead other local civil servants. Therefore, he believes all candidates will compete honestly using their abilities.
Regarding concerns about exam fraud, it is unlikely to occur. He trusts Thammasat University, as a leading educational institution, to conduct the exam with transparency and high standards. Faculty and staff would not allow the institution’s reputation to be damaged. Meanwhile, the central exam committee has appointed qualified personnel from various fields—including administrative officials, experts, and representatives from relevant departments—to oversee the interview process. These well-selected individuals will help ensure a quality selection of local executives ready to serve and support local civil servants in the future.
Reporters also noted that the Facebook page of Thammasat Exam Center posted a message titled 'Local Executive Career Path 69 Examinees #MustRead'.
The post stated, 'You know the hurdles the Orange Cat had to clear to organize this exam, so don’t let fairness be compromised. Whoever is ready, more knowledgeable, better at managing time, or more experienced will have an advantage, but there will be no disputes over unfair scoring. We hope this exam will set a model for future local government exams, regardless of the organizer or institution.'
