In Chachoengsao, two military trailers returning from the border lost control on a rain-slicked overpass while heading back to Bangkok, crashing off the bridge. Two soldiers were injured and promptly treated before being taken to the hospital.
At 13:30 on 23 July 2026, Chachoengsao rescue teams received reports of military trailers crashing off Wat Thot Bridge on Route 304, inbound to Chachoengsao city. The incident occurred in Moo 7, Bang Phai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province, prompting responders to quickly investigate.
Two military trailers were found to have crashed off the bridge. The first was a flatbed trailer blocking traffic on the parallel road. Two soldiers were injured: 29-year-old Lance Corporal Pramat Jansawang, the driver, suffered facial and left shoulder injuries; and 28-year-old Corporal Peeraphat Damroen sustained a deformed right leg injury. Rescue personnel provided first aid before transporting them to Phutthasothon Hospital.
Additionally, another loaded trailer crashed off the bridge, hitting the lower shoulder of the road. The trailer's rear portion was blocking one lane on the uphill side of the bridge, but no injuries were reported.
Military personnel traveling with the convoy reported that the group consisted of five vehicles from the Army Transport Department: one pickup truck leading, followed by two 10-wheel trucks, then two trailers at the rear. They were returning from Sa Kaeo Province after delivering barbed wire to the Eastern Military Command in the third round. They were heading to Bangkok to pick up barbed wire for the fourth and final round to be delivered to the Sa Kaeo border.
While traveling on Route 304 approaching Wat Thot Bridge, the trailer's rear suddenly swayed despite normal driving. The vehicle lost control, hitting the right shoulder, then swerving into the far left lane before plunging down onto the parallel road, blocking traffic. The following trailer also lost control and slid off the road similarly.
Locals and rescue workers noted that this area is prone to accidents, especially during rain when the roads become very slippery and hard to control. Authorities from Mueang Chachoengsao Police and highway patrol have inspected the site and are managing traffic flow. Tow trucks have been called to remove the military vehicles blocking traffic and further actions are underway.
