"Ja Nongpanee" held a 100-day merit-making ceremony for "Father Pradit" in a simple manner. So far, her father has appeared in a dream only once, while her mother still cries every day. She revealed the number of monks invited for the ceremony, but more monks arrived than expected.
Reporters stated that yesterday (23 Jul 2026), Ja Nongpanee Mahathai, a famous singer, along with her family, held a 100-day merit-making ceremony for her father, Pradit Mahathai, at their home in Sa Wang Ha District, Ang Thong Province.
Ja Nongpanee said that today's 100-day merit ceremony for her father, Pradit Mahathai, was a simple event with close family members and very close fans attending. Since she did not post an open invitation on social media, she apologized. Her father preferred simplicity, focusing on the monastic rites, and they also made merit for their ancestors, including grandparents.
Ja said that until now, her father had never come to her in a dream—except once. One day after returning from a concert, feeling hurt because her father appeared in someone else’s dream telling them to tell "Nook" to buy plenty of rice to share with friends, she felt sad that he did not come to her. So she spoke to his photo, asking him to come tell her. That night, her father appeared in a dream saying he missed her and asked if he received the alms she made. He said he could not eat it all. That was the only time he appeared in her dream.
Regarding merit-making, the family regularly offers alms for her father and continues to do so. They are currently the main sponsors of the Kathin ceremony for local temples including Ban Phet Temple, Sri Buathong Temple, and Nong Yang Temple. They are also planning a project to purchase an ambulance for Sa Wang Ha Hospital.
Meanwhile, her mother still cries every day, having spent over 40 years with her husband. Ja comforts her daily. Regarding numbers, she said that question should be asked to her mother, as she herself does not engage in such matters. She did share that although 20 monks were invited, 21 monks actually attended the ceremony.
