Tragic Death of Sound Technician Nong Benz Raises Death Toll to 36 in Lat Phrao Beer Factory Fire

The number of victims from the Lat Phrao Beer Factory fire has increased to 36 following the death of 'Nong Benz,' a sound technician, marking a continuing rise in the tragic losses from this fire.


The tragic fire at the Lat Phrao Beer Factory entertainment venue during the night of 12-13 July 2026 caused 35 deaths at the scene and in hospitals, with 79 burn injury victims reported.

Phahonyothin Police are gathering evidence to file charges for negligence and building control violations, having already taken statements from more than 150 witnesses including business operators, injured victims, relatives of the deceased, and experts from relevant agencies.

The 45-year-old owner, Mr. Suwicha, remains unable to be questioned as he is still receiving treatment in the ICU at Paolo Kaset Hospital. Meanwhile, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration ordered Mr. Prasart Phosrimart, Director of the Chatuchak District Office, to assist at the BMA Secretariat to ensure the investigation is transparent and does not interfere with official duties, as previously reported.

Most recently, at 14:00 on 25 July 2026, it was reported that Phanuwat Thipmanee, 31, known as 'Nong Benz,' the sound technician responsible for the store’s lighting and sound system, has passed away after more than ten days of treatment for his injuries, bringing the death toll to 36.

This sad news was shared in a post by a colleague, expressing heartfelt sorrow: “Another one has left us. Was there no miracle for anyone? Thank you for the great sound work and the friendship you always showed us.”

'Nong Benz' was a key member of the behind-the-scenes team managing the sound, lighting, and performances at the venue. Though not in the spotlight, he was essential to the smooth running of nightly events. His passing has deeply saddened family, coworkers, and acquaintances. For days many hoped for a miracle, but ultimately another life was lost in this tragedy.

The 36th fatality, Phanuwat Thipmanee, aged 31, died at Phra Narai Maharaj Hospital, confirmed at 21:50 on 24 July 2026.
