The Meteorological Department issued its fifth bulletin listing provinces to prepare for heavy to very heavy rainfall starting tomorrow (26 July 2026), along with an updated path for Typhoon Noru expected to make landfall in Guangdong Province.
On 25 July 2026, the Meteorological Department issued Bulletin No. 5 warning of heavy to very heavy rain over Thailand, effective from 26 to 30 July 2026.
It stated that from 26 to 30 July 2026, Thailand will experience heavy rain in many areas and very heavy rain in some parts of the northeast, central, east, and west coast of the south. This is due to a monsoon trough passing over the north and upper northeast, combined with strengthening southwest monsoon winds covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
The public is urged to be cautious of dangers from heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and debris flows, especially in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying regions.
In the upper Andaman Sea, winds are quite strong with waves 2-3 meters high; in areas with thunderstorms, waves may exceed 3 meters. The upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea have waves around 2 meters high, with waves over 2 meters in thunderstorm areas. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand should navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should refrain from leaving shore during this period.
. Typhoon "Noru" Located in northern southern China, it is expected to make landfall in Guangdong Province, China, on 26 July 2026. This typhoon will not enter Thailand. Travelers to the affected area are advised to check weather conditions before departure during this time.
