Animation honoring the King to be screened "His Majesty the King" On the occasion of His Majesty's birthday, 28 July 2026, across Bangkok
Mr. Choosit Wijarnjorakit, a contemporary Thai artist, said he collaborated with Decide Kit Studio, an internationally awarded creative studio, along with a team of artists from various disciplines. Together, they conveyed artworks with pride in Thai identity to produce an animated film honoring His Majesty the King on the occasion of His Majesty's birthday on 28 July 2026. The six-minute film represents a significant transformation in Thai art by bringing paintings, sculptures, and metal molds into the beautiful realm of 3D animation befitting the royal honor.
Mr. Choosit added that he created a portrait of His Majesty King Rama X entitled “Thosamracha: The King's Compassion, the Light of the Land,” which took over two years to paint using the Old Master technique. This method, passed down for over 400 years, involves oil painting on wooden panels with ancient undercoating techniques, and this artwork is included in the short film.
The film will be simultaneously screened on multimedia screens inside Iconsiam and on Plan B Media screens at key locations throughout Bangkok in late July, a highly auspicious time for Thai people to appreciate art that transcends physical limitations and to honor the profound royal benevolence of King Rama X.
